The Shade Tree is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe shelter and life-changing services to homeless and abused women, children, and their pets—while promoting stability, dignity, and self-reliance. Founded in 1989/1990 as Jubilee Ministries, The Shade Tree was created to meet the 24-hour needs of vulnerable women and children in Southern Nevada. Today, it operates a 38,000-square-foot facility with 364 beds, making it the largest shelter of its kind in Nevada. Approximately 33% of its clients are children under 18, with seniors representing a growing population. The organization offers crisis assistance for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, elder abuse, and street violence, and partners with organizations such as The Helms Help Foundation to further support its mission.
